X-RAY FOOD INSPECTION:

The FlexXray Process

The FlexXray Process

At FlexXray, we offer the most cost-efficient solution to resolve your on-hold product: third-party inspection. We can find what inline machines can’t with advanced x-ray inspection systems. At FlexXray, we can detect metal, glass particles, stones, bone, rubber, plastic, gasket material, product clumps, container defects, wood, missing components and beyond down to 0.8 mm and smaller. We maintain traceability every step of the way. FlexXray can complete a thorough x-ray inspection faster than you can get you a quote from anywhere else, and quicker than it would take you to rework the product through your inline systems, saving you time, labor and money.

No matter how large or small your product hold is, we have the capacity and labor to rework it.
  • We have more than 28 x-ray inspection lines
  • We operate 24 hours a day
  • We’re capable of inspecting an entire truckload in as little as 4-6 hours
  • We’re located throughout the U.S.
  • We currently inspect approximately 325 truckloads per month
  • We have four U.S. facilities
  • We salvage product and profits for over 1100 customer facilities

Our streamlined process saves you time, resources and, quite possibly, a lawsuit or recall.

FlexXray is:

ACCURATE

If foreign material contamination exists in your on-hold product that can be detected, we will find, identify and segregate it.

FAST

We provide the fastest turnarounds for reworking product in North America.

COST-EFFECTIVE

We offer faster turnarounds at a much lower cost than any other internal or external rework option, both short-term and long-term.

We can help you salvage more than 98% of your product and profits (on average) in order to feel confident to send your safe product to retailers and consumers as fast as possible. Because our facility is temperature-controlled, and we also have temperature-controlled trucks for foods that require refrigeration, we can provide x-ray inspection services for frozen foods as well.

Here’s how our process works:

Step 1:

Send your bracketed product to any one of our U.S. facilities.

Step 2:

We’ll inspect your product quickly and maintain your product traceability throughout the entire process.

Step 3:

We send you an in-depth report of our findings.

Step 4:

Your safe product is ready to go, wherever you want it to go. Many of our customers have it delivered immediately to its final destination because of the trust they’ve built with us.

At FlexXray, we’re helping to revolutionize the food industry by eliminating the costly problem of foreign material contamination. When you partner with us, you’re not only an early adopter of some of the best food x-ray inspection technology, you also get to save your company’s revenue, product and brand reputation.

We also have in-house capabilities to provide the following services to help keep your supply chain moving:

Warehousing – FlexXray’s facilities encompass thousands of square feet accommodating everything from ambient temperature control to frozen foods. We track and record the opening and closing delta temperatures, so you know your product is maintaining industry standards.

Validation – FlexXray can help validate your in-house HACCP standards for foreign material contamination. We can help you ensure your systems are working and that your “clean” product is truly clean.

Re-bundling – We can inspect your product down to the smallest container size possible to ensure the smallest detection sensitivities, if needed. If this means that we have to open a case, we have the capacity to re-package or re-shrink bundle the product as needed.

Don’t hesitate to contact our team of experts if you have product on hold. You can send a sample to us, and we’ll perform free sample testing with no obligations.
